Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation in dermatology is defined as the darkening of a certain area of the skin or nails caused by increase melanin. It is usually harmless but it is not good to look at either.

Several people are suffering from this skin darkening, and most of them are caused by the sun. If your skin is exposed to too much sun then there is a great possibility that you can have hyperpigmentation. Taking birth control is also a factor because this may cause a hormonal change to the body.

Since it is harmless, you need not to worry too much. It is also curable, there are a lot of home remedies that can lighten the skin and there are also a lot of surgical operation that you can do to diminish it.

You should be careful on whatever medication you will be choosing, you should consult a professional before trying anything to prevent it from worsening!
