HOSTAGE CRISIS ENDS WITH CASUALTIES

Yesterday, I was shocked when I heard the news...Ex Police officer Capt. Rolando Mendoza hi-jacked a tourist bus full of Chinese Nationals...it was all over the news..

The day-long ordeal began when a disgruntled ex-policeman armed with an M-16 assault rifle and dressed in combat pants hijacked the bus in Manila's tourist district in a desperate bid to get his job back.

Negotiation were going well, he was asking minor demands and when it was being fulfilled he had also released some of the hostages, more demands, more victims were released, but Negotiations broke down after nightfall, when after his brother also a policeman was being forced to be brought to Camp Crame since humor has it that he is an accessory to the hostage crisis.
A gunshot was heard from the inside and the PNP were forced to storm the bus, firing dozens of bullets of their own into the vehicle.

After waiting for more than 10 hours the police were still unable to get inside the Bus, they were breaking glass here and there but still can't get inside and maybe also fearful of their own lives since the hostage taker was still alive and open fires.
It eventually ended when police threw tear gas inside the bus, and fired again, and as it was reported Mendoza was shot in the head by a sniper.
It is sad to know that those tourists came here to enjoy what our country can offer but ended up in a tragedy on the day that they were supposed to be flying home...
10 were confirmed killed, some of them was used as human shields others maybe shot due to failed negotiations..we really never know why?
It makes me think....How many more of this that will happen in the future?...

Miss Nutrition

Friday July 30, 2010...Nutrition day of the school where my daughter is and she was selected as one of the candidates for their little Miss Nutrition
This is the first time that she will experience this kind of event and so am I and I think I was the one being nervous on how the performance would turn out since we are notified on the last hour.
She was able to deliver her lines and was able to sing her piece without any mistakes, Seeing my daughter presenting herself with confidence makes me proud.
She did not win but for me she is a winner, giving only a day to prepare everything, maye showed much than what is expected of her and she did her part well.

I'm Very PROUD of her!

skin Allergy

Have been to the doctor for the follow up and to get the results of the Biopsy.
I was again, as usual on the waiting list, waited for about 4 hours....it is always like this, since there were always a lot of patients ( lots of people have skin problems these days)..
To make it short, it was both Bad news and good news..BAD news is the allergies is known as PITYRIASIS LICHENOIDES CHRONICA with no known cause and it is chronic...GOOD news is thatit is not cancerous, not hereditary( can't be passed on) and it is not contagious. I don't know how to react on that, don't even know what should I feel, should I be happy that there were a lot of good news than bad nor be sad that we can't target the cause because it is not known...
The advise that was given to me by the doctor was too be under the heat of the sun 1 hour everyday, I'm getting my tan after the summer..lol..and he had given me a cream for the meantime, then I will be back again after one month.
I hope this sun bathing thing will help, aside from getting tan, there is a great exposure of ultra violet rays that I will be getting for a month and I hope it wont be the start of a much serious skin problems...
I am hoping, the medication and the dedication would cure this..to get my Flawless skin back!

Declared

It will be a new chapter for the Republic of the Philippines!

The new president has been declared. It was a peaceful declaration! Majority of the people are expecting this to happen it was not a surprise.
The first automated election was very successful, giving Mr. Benigno " Noynoy" Cojuanco Aquino III the highest position in the country.
Former senator and Now President Noynoy Aquino is the son of the late former president Cory Aquino and the late Ninoy Aquino Sr.
He never intended to run for presidency but the people called for a change and it was a good timing that the late Cory Aquino died last year, thus giving him the attention of the masses, wanting him to run for president and rule the country the way his parents did it a few years back.
Filipinos were looking for change and with him as the new elected President I do hope that we can see that in the near future...A country that would be better than what we have today!
Less corruption in the government, more progressive and much better life for all of us, a good future for the next generation...I have my fingers crossed!
