CHOCOLATE......HILLS!

Last October 7-10 2010, I took a leave from work and had an opportunity to visit Bohol, where one of the seven wonders of the World can be found The Chocolate Hills.

The Chocolate Hills were probably Bohol's most famous tourist attraction. They look like giant mole hills, or as others say, women's breasts, and remind us of the hills in a small child's drawing. Most people who first see pictures of this landscape can hardly believe that these hills are not a man-made artifact. The chocolate hills consist of are no less than 1268 hills (some claim this to be the exact number). They are very similar in shape and mostly between 30 and 50 meters high. They are covered with grass, which, at the end of the dry season, turns chocolate brown. From this color, the hills derive their name, but,at other times the hills are green.

Legend has it that the hills came into existence when two giants threw stones and sand at each other in a fight that lasted for days. When they were finally exhausted, they made friends and left the island, but left behind the mess they made. For the more romantically inclined is the tale of Arogo, a young and very strong giant who fell in love with an ordinary mortal girl called Aloya. After she died, the giant Arogo cried bitterly. His tears then turned into hills, as a lasting proof of his grief.

However, up to this day, even geologists have not reached consensus on how they where formed. The most commonly accepted theory is that they are the weathered formations of a kind of marine limestone on top of a impermeable layer of clay. If you climb the 214 steps to the top of the observation hill near the complex, you can read this explanation on a bronze plaque.

It was quite a long trip from where we stayed, but seeing those little mountains that are scattered everywhere, it is all worth it, from the long trip to climbing the stairs, up where we see all of them, they really look like chocolates, lots of mountain chocolates and no matter how exhausted I am in the 214 steps stairs...It's all worth it!

God is really amazing!Bohol trip, indeed is unforgettable

Nothing!

It is almost the end of the year and I was out of the blogger's world for a while my schedule was so busy that I haven't find time opening my Blog.

There were a lot of events in my life that I would like to take note of, but I haven't had the time to do it..so, I guess I have to keep them in my memories and Blog about it if I have enough time..

Today, I am working in the office on a Saturday and since, I was the only one here, I am bored and I remember my Blog, So here I am writing nonsense things...LOL.

I have a lot of things going on in me but I don't know how to put it in Words....I can start a sentence but then end up deleting it, because I could not construct a paragraph.

I am a frustrated writer you know, I always try to see to it that the ones reading my blogs can get the same message I am sending while I was writing. I want them to feel the emotions that I have while I am typing these letters one by one.

Hmmmmnnn...I guess I need a little practice to do that..

OOOpps times up..time to go!

BOYFRIEND

While we were having dinner yesterday..My daughter, said that "Ma,Pa,I had a boyfriend at school...Say what?..."a boyfriend at school". and she was giggling...

The reaction, Me and my hubby look at each other, smiling and we just asked "who"

She then eagerly told us the name and how it had come that her classmate becomes her "boyfriend". We just laugh about it and we explain to her what does it mean in a child's point of view.

After washing the dishes, Me and My hubby talked about it and we were laughing when we recall the way she said it...

What if it will happen 10 years from now?...she would be 15 years old then...I think it will not be the same scenario, seeing it now, I could picture it out!!! and it worries me, Oh, how time flies so fast..

Good thing she was just 5 years old!

HOSTAGE CRISIS ENDS WITH CASUALTIES

Yesterday, I was shocked when I heard the news...Ex Police officer Capt. Rolando Mendoza hi-jacked a tourist bus full of Chinese Nationals...it was all over the news..

The day-long ordeal began when a disgruntled ex-policeman armed with an M-16 assault rifle and dressed in combat pants hijacked the bus in Manila's tourist district in a desperate bid to get his job back.

Negotiation were going well, he was asking minor demands and when it was being fulfilled he had also released some of the hostages, more demands, more victims were released, but Negotiations broke down after nightfall, when after his brother also a policeman was being forced to be brought to Camp Crame since humor has it that he is an accessory to the hostage crisis.
A gunshot was heard from the inside and the PNP were forced to storm the bus, firing dozens of bullets of their own into the vehicle.

After waiting for more than 10 hours the police were still unable to get inside the Bus, they were breaking glass here and there but still can't get inside and maybe also fearful of their own lives since the hostage taker was still alive and open fires.
It eventually ended when police threw tear gas inside the bus, and fired again, and as it was reported Mendoza was shot in the head by a sniper.
It is sad to know that those tourists came here to enjoy what our country can offer but ended up in a tragedy on the day that they were supposed to be flying home...
10 were confirmed killed, some of them was used as human shields others maybe shot due to failed negotiations..we really never know why?
It makes me think....How many more of this that will happen in the future?...
